Pre Competitive Registration Guide
Before Registration Opens
there are a few things that need to be completed before registration day
Step 1 - Assessment
All swimmers registering must have either a recommended group from their Report Card or an in- pool assessment completed by FAST
Either must be within 12 months of the registration date. Otherwise your child will need to be reassessed
Request an Assessment
Step 2 - Set up FAST Account
Ensure your have a FAST account set up with your child listed as a member. Goto our website, select sign in, select create an account.
Ensure your child has recommended assessment group prior to registration opening. If there is not a group assigned to your swimmer, you will not be able to register when it opens
Step 3 - Register Online
Complete the online registration once it is opened for the session
Group assignments are added shortly after either an in-pool assessment has been completed, or a final report card has been issued

First Come First Served
registration is on a first come first served basis
Must have an account and group assigned to your child
Wait list
if your assigned group is full when you register, contact us to be added to our wait list
Pre Registration
Swimmers who are registered for the session immediately preceeding the registration (current swimmers) will be given the opportunity to pre-register before opening spots up to new and not current FAST swimmers
For our Fall Sessions only, swimmers who are currently registered for either the Spring or Summer Sessions will be invited to pre register
Access Code
you will be given an access code required for pre registration if your swimmer qualifies

pre registration is still on a first come first served basis and does not guarantee a spot

Log in to your FAST account and select Pre comp registration
Select your Registration Group
from your report card or in-pool assessment
scroll down for more groups
Select the swimmer you are registering
If pre registering, add your access code here
Select your preferred group schedule
Each class has a maximum number of spots. Class selection is on a first come, first served basis.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any special requests
Confirm & Complete information & accept all waivers
Fall Sessions - mark the start of our swim season and ALL swimmers need to pay SNB insurance which covers you until June the following year. If you register for a subsequent session, you can select the "No" option outlined in blue as you have already paid this fee in the Fall
For Winter, Spring and Summer Sessions Only:

Select “Yes” to the SNB pre-competitive insurance if you are new to FAST and have NOT been registered in the Fall 2023, Winter 2024 or Spring 2024 Session
Select confirm
All done!
Now your registration will:
- be reviewed
- payment must be received in full
- Respect in Sport Parent Program certification must be current
Once all these have been confirmed, your child is registered

All FAST parents/guardians must have one person complete the RIS for parent certification
Certification is online through the link above and costs approx $12 payable to RIS when you register for the course
Once certified, it is current for 5 years until it needs to be completed again
When completing please ensure you select either Swimming Canada or FAST as your affiliated organization
